Forge Flex MPaaS Now Available

Forge and Flight Labs today announced the expanded availability of Forge Flex — a Manufacturing and Procurement as a Service (MPaaS) retainer program designed to eliminate the procurement friction that slows DoD UAS development programs.
The Problem Forge Flex Solves
NDAA-compliant aerospace and drone components are not available at commercial speed. Vendor onboarding, compliance documentation, MIPR processing, and supply chain verification add 60 to 120 days to acquisition timelines before a single component ships.
For DoD units and defense organizations running rapid UAS development programs, that delay isn’t an administrative inconvenience — it stops programs. Innovation cells see O&M and RDT&E funding expire in procurement queues. Units need components in days to meet operational timelines. Acquisition processes built for major programs don’t serve agile experimentation.
Forge Flex is built specifically for that gap.
How It Works
Forge Flex clients pre-fund an annual retainer that provides on-demand access to:
- NDAA-compliant component procurement — pre-established vendor accounts, verified supply chains, receiving, inspection, and full documentation. Components in 3–5 business days, not 60–120.
- Rapid prototyping and manufacturing — FDM/SLA 3D printing, electronics assembly, composite fabrication, flight controller configuration, and CNC coordination.
- Engineering support — flight controller configuration and tuning, CAD/CAM design, systems integration, and program management.
One contract. One vendor. One point of contact. Everything needed to keep a UAS development program moving at the speed of mission.
Pilot Program Available
Organizations new to Forge Flex can enter through a 6-month pilot program — a proof-of-concept engagement sized to fit within most unit-level spending authority. Pilot programs include 200 labor hours and 1–2 prototype builds over six months. Contact for pilot program investment details.
Successful pilots convert to annual retainer tiers ranging from Bronze ($150K, 400 hrs) through Obsidian ($3M, 12,000 hrs) based on program requirements.
Contracting Information
Forge Flex services are delivered by Forge and Flight Labs LLC — the operating entity with active SAM.gov registration and established DoD vendor status.
